Hartselle’s Lance Wins Bama Division Event On Lake Guntersville

While fishing may be a year-round activity, most anglers consider late February through October and November to be the true fishing season for North Alabama. These dates are also the times when you see most bass tournaments taking place.

The FLW Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Bama Division recently kicked off its tournament season with a competition on Lake Guntersville. Boater Davey Lance of Hartselle claimed the first-place prize of $4,261 with a five-bass limit weighing 23 pounds, 6 ounces. Having a five-bass limit this early in the season where the average size is almost 5 pounds is something that's going to be talked about for the next several weeks. It was definitely a fine bag of bass and it is sure to get the hearts racing of many bass anglers who are looking for an excuse to get out and start their season early. read more
