THE MURKY DEPTHS : NWA Fishing Report

Recent downpours were a good thing for area waterways but muddy inflows have slowed the already slow fishing action. Water temps remain in the low 40 s but March is knocking at the door. Good luck and watch for floating debris. Beaver Lake Southtown Sporting Goods - Larry Aggus says the waters have muddied up, turning a fair crappie bite into a downright tough one. Jerkbaits should really come on for bass, especially in the clearer sections of the lake. Crankbaits are also getting some play.

Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers - Aaron Jolliff says the rivers are mud holes and pretty much everything is shut down. Jerkbaits, crankbaits and spinnerbaits fished in the back of clearing creek arms should bring in a few bass. Hickory Creek Marina - Lee Winkler reports muddy conditions in the rivers. read more
